1）The New Media Center

The new media center is a center in forms of multi-media (pictures, tweets, videos, etc.) and via various new media platforms (such as WeChat, QQ, Yiban, etc.) to report on the JCI events and students activities as well as pass on notifications and activities’ announcements to students.

In addition to editing WeChat tweets, updating and maintaining the Yiban Class, the New Media Center also plays an important role in assisting JCI, the Student Union and other departments to organize activities. Besides, the center is not only responsible for the art design, video editing and activities publicity during the preparation, but also presents the whole activities’ process and results on the WeChat public account and Yiban platform in forms of tweets.

In the era when the influence of paper media is gradually weakening, the new media has attracted widespread attention and recognition by taking the advantages of vigorous development of the Internet, and has unlimited development potential.

 

2）The Secretariat Department

The department communicates with the presidium and conveys messages to other departments attached to the Student Union. SD is the pivot and bridge for coordination and communication between the presidium and other departments. It is mainly responsible for the revenue, reconciliation, and reimbursement of student activities’ funds. Besides, regular financial settlement as well as the financial summaries is also its duty. In addition, It is in charge of drafting documents, signing in and recording conferences of the Student Union, firstly reviewing activities’ planning cases and coordinating the work among the various departments. At the same time, it takes charge of the assessments of the officials and regular meetings

 

3）The Practice Department

The Practice Department jointly organizes big events with other colleges to strengthen the ties among the colleges and increase the popularity of JCI in CQU. The department holds various activities in JCI to lay the foundation of JCI’s tradition, create cultural atmosphere and accumulate JCI’s bedrock strength. What’s more, the department also cooperates with other departments in big events to complete the tasks so that the activities will run smoothly.

 

4）The Arts and Cultural Department

The Arts and Cultural Department, by organizing various active, healthy and mass cultural activities, to provide students with a stage to train and improve their abilities, enrich their extra-curricular life, publicize and promote JCI’s culture, create cultural and artistic atmospheres as well as improve the popularity of JCT in CQU. Currently, the department is mainly responsible for the orientation party, the dubbing contest, the chorus festival and the basketball games.

 

5）The Sports Department

The Sports Department aims to enrich students’ extra-curricular life by organizing various sports activities to improve their enthusiasm for physical exercise and their physical fitness as well as cultivate collective cohesion.

The Department is responsible for the planning and organization of JCI’s sports events as well as actively carries out various sports games in JCI. In addition to normal football and basketball games, the department can also organize many interesting sports activities to arouse the students’ enthusiasm for sports and to cooperate with sports teaching department to hold activities, such as campus basketball games and campus cheer leading competitions, etc. It also guides the Sports Committee members of each class to promote exchanges in sports activities among students of all departments; actively implements various tasks assigned by CQU or JCI; calls on students to actively take part in activities, helps improve students’ fitness; enriches the cultural life of CQU; and assists other departments of the Student Union to work together to complete the tasks, such as the orientation party and commendation conference.

 

6）The Learning Department

The Learning Department is one of the seven functional departments of the Student Union, guided by the CYLC and the Student Union. It is the bridge between the departments and the staff from CYLC . It aims to improve the students’ interest in learning as well as their qualities. By means of holding a variety of activities that integrate knowledge and fun, the department plans to stimulate students’ interest in learning, cultivate their innovative thinking and scientific learning methods, thus greatly enriches their learning and extra-curricular life, activates the atmospheres of school learning, and mobilizes their learning enthusiasm. Besides, the department always takes creating good learning environment as its goal and makes continuous efforts to achieve the goal. At the same time, the department provides better campus environment for students to make their university study life more wonderful.

Main functions:

1. Establish and maintain regular contacts with other departments of JCI, and convey the study contents to students.

2. Know students’ thoughts and learning emotions, and report the information to teachers in time.

3. Carry out studying style construction activities to improve students’ enthusiasm and initiative.

Create good learning atmospheres:

1. Hold various competitions to stimulate students’ interest in learning as well as activate the Second Classroom.

2. Organize experience exchanges, such as old and new student sharing parties,mutual learning, and common progress in unity.
