The University of Cincinnati (UC),founded in 1819 in Cincinnati City, Ohio State, USA, is a famous public university with a history of 200 years. It was ranked Top 20 in Cooperative Education, and Top 63 in Top Public Schools, 2018. In 1906, the university-enterprise joint training (Co-op) model was first established, now ranking third in the United States (the latest ranking in 2019) and it has cooperated with more than 1,800 companies. Chongqing University (CQU) is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education (MOE) enjoying a deputy ministerial status, accountable to the CCCP of China . It is also co-supported by MOE and the government of Chongqing Municipality. Not only as one of the old A8 architectural institutes, and a Type-A world's leading university under construction, it was also among the first batch of high-level research-oriented comprehensive universities of “ Project 211” and “ Project 985 ”. The new Joint Co-op Institute introduced the advanced school-enterprise joint training (Co-op) model of the University of Cincinnati for the first time into China, adopting all English taught programs and implementing American teaching methodologies .
JCI is a demonstration institute for undergraduate education and internationalization of CQU. It now offers two majors—Electrical Engineering and Its Automation and Mechanical Engineering and Its Automation, both of which are key and well-received majors of two universities. Students are enrolled according to CQU’s standard enrollment quota and trained based on first-class undergraduate standards. From JCIers’ admission to graduation, all their teaching resources are managed by CQU.
